Know Your Roots

In line with the Vedic tradition, several sects of Brahmins have inhabited the Ubhaya Godavari region like the Vaidiki Velanadu, Venginadu/Veginatlu, Aaru Vela Niyogulu, Peruru Dravidulu, Pudur Dravidulu, Karana Kammulu, Nandavarika Niyogulu, Kasalanadu, Tummagunta Brahmins,  to name a few, forming a part of the broader "Pancha Dravida Brahmin" classification . The broad mindedness of the land lies in welcoming relatively newer sects like the Peruru Dravidulu a group of about 400 - 500 families who migrated from Valangaiman, Tamilnadu about 1000 years ago. This is  an attempt to consolidate the Surnames (Inti Perulu) along with the Gotrams which could serve as a interesting reference to trace back some of our ancestral connections

If you belong to the Ubhaya Godavari regions, you can look up for your Intiperu (Surname) or look up with your Gothram and you might find it exciting to discover some of your ancestral connections!! If incase your Intiperu or Gothram is not listed, kindly submit your details through the Contact Us page
